Rammstein BDO – Metal Hammer

Powderlinger can lay claim to a portion of BDO glory. But as the final strains of the last song is still fading out the BDO is in for some fireworks - German art industrial rock pyrotechnic performance artists Rammstein are about to take the main stage and the crowd's whipping themselves into a near frenzy.
The creepy knickerbocker-wearing sadomasochist German industrial rockers go full-tilt launching into a show of epic proportions. From the start the show’s an entertaining and mesmerising performance. The stage is totally devoid of any colour other than harsh monochrome with huge banks of white klieg liqhts, set to 'blind'. Singer *Lindermann wears a pair of black goggles complete with red laser beams that pierce an eerie path over the crowd, and a heat protective metal mesh jacket that bursts into flames as he marches to the microphone for the opening song, 'Rammstein'. Fire is everywhere - microphone stands are engulfed in fire, telephones blow up, the stage explodes into flames at any given time, and Lindermann even shoots a giant flaming arrow that flies on a wire all the way to the front of house booth where it explodes in flames. When the band break into'Du Hast, Lindermann sparks up a gun-shaped flamethrower that sends forth a burst of flames a full five metres into the air. Later, during the song ‘Bend Over’ the singer takes the keyboardist down on all fours and leads him to the front of the stage where he simulates sex on the unfortunate with the use of a giant strap-on dildo.
