Nasskalte Zeilen und scharfe Lyrik - Messer Review 04-Jan-03
Cold-wet lines and sharp lyrics
Till Lindemann – Messer
One knows Till Lindemann as the singer in the band Rammstein and for his direct polarised song lyrics. In the past years the man with the propensity for martialistic self-production has also written countless poems, resembling a guillotine in the form of words and presented here now in large format. The Lyrics probably served as a therapeutic measure, as if some fantasy presses a cold sweat from the poet’s large pores, some touch as dark and cool as cutting steel under a neon light. Lindemann becomes tender and more rarely, transparent. That’s why the Rockstar with the partiality for a big pose sits down for countless photos amongst shop window dolls, powdered and in a skin coloured ballet suit. The singer as an Art Figure, a well-known picture. His lyrics are unsuitable as good night-reading.
